Welcome to Sumter County Equine Service. Our motto is Quality Veterinary Service For Your Special Equine Friend. This motto is dedicated to my father, Alexander Pidherney. I lost my father in 1989, and since then have reflected on his teachings many times. He was patient and kind, but strict. He worked long hours, in a shop with no air conditioning, at a job he was overqualified for in intelligence but under qualified for in education. He never complained, just went off to work each morning at the crack of dawn, rode the LIRR train an hour to NYC, and returned to Massapequa Park train station each evening after dark. Some evenings he was so tired he would fall asleep on the train, miss his stop, and end up in some other town. Mom or I would have to find a ride to the train station, pickup his car, and retrieve him when he awakened. |

my parents shared for over 50 years. It read "Buying Quality is like Buying Oats. If you want plump, fresh, clean oats, then you must pay a fair price. If however, you can be satisfied with oats that have already been through the horse, that comes a little cheaper!" Our staff strives to bring you quality, professional, and personalized service.
